City of London walk.
Discovering the historic city of London from the Romans literally metres beneath the streets up to the present day, we will see wonderful architecture from previous centuries and the new cutting edge sky scrapers The Gherkin, Cheese-grater, Walkie Talkie to name a few.
I will tell you about the Historic Livery Companies (trade guilds) lots of interesting stories behind the trades and their origins and traditions also the beautiful churches and their connections to the city see some of the "pocket parks" tucked away in side streets.
The walk is a great way to get to know the city 2, 000 years rolled into a few hours of leisurely walking and discovering what the city has to offer.
We will meet in the city by Cannon Street Rail Station to start our tour at a convenient agreed time the tour route is roughly circular and will finish around the Bank Junction area in the city. The sites we will visit are mostly external unless the churches are open on the day this varies daily, I will check prior to the tours start we can usually access the gardens during city office hours roughly 9am-5 pm. Coffee and comfort breaks will be available on request during the walks route the planned route is approximately 3 hours long depending on the individual group.
