Not only is he an Archaeologist with vast knowledge of anything ancient in Italy, but he reads and speaks Latin, so he could tell us what many of the inscriptions meant on buildings and in Churches. He arranged for a car to pick us up and deliver us back to our ship (Mercedes E-Class), driver (also great guy named Sergio), and tailored the tour to our specific needs. I would highly recommend Giovanni to anyone going to Rome

United StatesGiovanni provided a fantastic tour for my family of 5 (including 3 kids ages 10,12,14). He was punctual and had a great itinerary laid out for us. He timed the movement among the 4 ancient Rome sites perfectly, and knew exactly where to go to avoid lines getting in, find shade/water, and avoid crowds. He made the ancient sites comes to life, pointing out interesting details we never would have discovered on our own without his knowledge -- especially at San Clemente Basilica. Highly recommend!

United StatesWe enjoyed the early entrance into the vatican, however we found our tour guide Giovanni to be quite dismissive and distant, he seemed to be more worried about his cell phone while walking from place to place in the museum. While other tour guides presented vivid large photos, our guide gave us a small fold up picture of the sistine chapel. His constant gaze and search for his colleagues, (as he called them) was very inappropriate and made us feel left out. The price was not worth the tour.
