Mathilda was an excellent and knowledgeable guide to the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica. She highlighted the main areas of the sites without overwhelming us. I strongly suggest adding St. Peter's Basilica to her main tour to avoid those queue lines. Mathilda's tour guide credentials allowed us early access to the site, avoiding the massive lines of people. Her knowledge was top notch, and she was very personable. Highly recommend!

This tour is why we choose Tours By Locals over larger group tours. You get a much more intimate experience and visit places that are more authentic. We had an amazing tour and wine tasting experience in Tuscany. Our driver, Ivano, was also very skillful in his navigation of the crazy streets of Rome. Meeting the winemaker and having a beautiful lunch overlooking the property created memories of a lifetime.

The food tour with Mathilda was a FANTASTIC start to our few days in Rome before our cruise. Arriving from the US early in the morning, we wanted a tour that would keep us moving as we adjusted to the time difference. And we had to eat, so this was the perfect solution! Mathilda was a wonderful host and showed us many great sites in addition to taking us for great food. We had coffee, salami/cured meats, fried artichokes, the BEST pizza in Rome, & wonderful gelato. Highly recommendEd!

This tour is amazing! Seeing Pompeii in person is definitely a very moving experience, and seeing it with Mathilda's expert guidance makes it more so. We then drove through gorgeous scenery to picturesque Positano and shopped. I highly recommend this tour.

Mathilda had guided us for a full day the previous day, but had a family emergency this half day tour of Borghese Gallery so she arranged for her associate, Valeria, to fill in for her. Valeria is clearly an expert on the Borghese collection and we learned a lot while having a great time. We recommend Valeria with the same enthusiasm that we recommend Mathilda!

Mathilda was amazing! We toured with her twice during our visit to Rome. She is incredibly knowledgeable and made all of the history of Rome come alive with her charm and storytelling. We were a family of five, with ages ranging from 16 to 79, and each person found their time with Mathilda educational and fun! You must see Rome with Mathilda!
