Our time with Paolo at Ostia Antica was quite riveting; Paolo introduced us to the historical context and life in Ancient Rome became imaginable! What a marvellous memory to have from our holiday.

United StatesWe had an absolutely fantastic time with Paolo. He's incredibly knowledgeable, you simply won't find a better expert on Rome. Our schedule only permitted us to visit during a holiday which was terribly busy, but he expertly guided us through the crowds and we still were able to see everything we hoped for. English speakers need not worry, he's perfectly fluent. My son's comment: "How do my high school teachers possibly manage to make this stuff so boring?" It was a fascinating time!

United StatesPaulo is a superb guide for Hadrian's Villa and Garden d'Este. Paulo's has a PhD in archeology, real life dig experience and currently teaches at a university in Germany. Paulo's knowledge is encyclopedic; he is extremely personable, his English is excellent and generally a joy to be around. The tour is a long day with a lot of walking and Paulo was open to modifying for items we wanted to see. His choice for lunch was outstanding, scrumptious food and incredible view. The alter of Augustus was impressive and learning more about modern Rome's archeological initiatives was also insightful. AustraliaWow. According to the kids the tours by Paolo of both Pompeii and Herculaneum were a highlight of their vacation. He has a HUGE knowledge of pretty much anything of history, is engaging and his passion is contagious and brings history back to life. His English is excellent and he easily communicated everything to us. I will definitely be recommending to anyone wanting a guide to ask for Paolo and if I could have rated him higher than a 5 out of 5, I would have given him an 11.

The most memorable experience was being in a museum in Naples (got rained out of Herculaneum) and having Paolo say to us--"let me show you what I found while excavating in Pompeii". If you have the chance to do anything in Italy with Paolo as your guide I 100% recommend it--he is amazing.

United StatesIf allowed, I'd award more than 5 stars. A group of 6 of us took the Pompeii & Positano tour and ended up spending more than 13 hours with him. If you want a guide with archeological and historical knowledge, expertise, hands on and onsite experience in the Pompeii area, I'm not sure you'll find better. The tour educated, engaged and entertained and he did it in a manner that all enjoyed. We wish we could have spend far more time with him at Pompeii. When back in area, would 100% use Paolo again!

He had endless information through great stories about the artifacts in the Capitoline Museums that really made the history of Rome come to life. We could've spent several days in these museums. We highly recommend Paolo and the tour of the Capitoline Museums. It is an overlooked gem and Paolo is the best!

We very much enjoyed having the knowledge of an archaeologist when visiting many of Rome's historic places. He designed a custom itinerary for us based on what we had asked to see. He also took us to an amazing restaurant for lunch and gave recommendations for dishes to try that are local to Rome. I would highly recommend booking with Paolo and I would book with him again!
