We enjoyed a private tour with Sergio. We were able to skip lines & efficiently discover so much information about the Museum & also Vatican City. He is such a gentleman & so knowledgeable. He was greeted by most of the employees of the museum. You could tell he was highly regarded by all who knew him. If you are booking a tour to the Vatican Museum, we would highly recommend Sergio.

Sergio was a fantastic guide. He was well informed, well paced, and was overflowing with genuine enthusiasm in the subject matter. We loved our tour and couldn't have expected more. If I could leave even more stars, I would. Sergio combined two tours for us in order to visit both Rome and the Vatican. Seeing St. Peter's Basilica has been a lifelong desire of my husband's. After the tour, he raved that Sergio's tour went far above his expectations. Sergio's knowledge of Rome and the Vatican is extensive. Sergio is not only knowledgeable, he is fun. His ability to drive a golf cart through Rome while telling us about his city is amazing. He is patient and very kind.

He is very knowledgable and takes pride in sharing all the beauty that Rome has to offer, enthusiastically! We enjoyed having Sergio as a tour guide, that we took our second tour with him as our guide. The Vatican City tour was a step back in time as he told us of the amazing people that came before and dove into stories of the previous Popes to the current Pope. In the museum, Sergio pointed out renaissance art and told of the great historical events as we walked the amazing halls. Another amazing tour by Sergio - Greatly memorable and appreciated. Great tour the only comment is that Pantheon was closed it be helpful to know for a 4 pm tour. He was super knowledgeable and friendly and the pace of the tour was just right. At the end of the tour helped secure a reservation and walked us to it, was great since it was our 1st day. Tour was expensive so we weren't sure about the tipping. Would be helpful to know upfront as well. We didn't know how much of the cost went to Sergio and how much to ToursbyLocals. Being Americans we of course left a tip!

What started as a small miscommunication resulted in the guides last words to us " good luck, I'm leaving you ( parking lot) , you can't speak Italian and you don't where to go". Threw the tickets that we had prepaid to the colosseum at us and walked away. I must admit that we were wrong and made some assumptions that were not correct. However, any additional costs, would have been happily paid. There is no point in a professional guide to be angry for guests misunderstanding his English.

A private tour is very much worth the money! I would highly recommend booking a Tours By Local tour for any of the sites or excursions in Italy. Sergio was knowledgeable, friendly, and offered us the ultimate Colosseum and Forum experience. I had been to both before, but learned so much more in our time with Sergio. If you are contemplating a larger group tour or a private tour... spend the extra money and book through Tours By Locals. You will get a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Even beyond Roman history, Sergio is knowledgeable on a range of subjects, from film to politics, and very pleasant to chat with.
