He did a great job arranging our day to let us see as much as possible. Lunch in Positano was amazing. We ate overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea at da Costantino Ristorante. It was wonderful. Food was delicious. Went to Pompei in the afternoon to avoid crowds. Marcello lead the tour and he was great! He was very educated on Pompei and made it interesting

United StatesMy wife and I had visited the Amalfi coast and Pompeii almost 10 years ago and we were returning now with a multi-generational group consisting of the two of us, plus 3 grown children and their spouses and 3 grandchildren ages 1-1/2 to 9 years old. Our experience with Marcello was next level! We saw and learned more than we would have in a week on our own! This was especially true of Pompeii. With a degree in archeology, Marcello's insights were so interesting and he made it fun even for the kids!

He did a very good job showing us Herculaneum, but we were with someone else for the rest of the day. The vehicle was new and comfortable, but we were dropped in Sorrento with no tour guide. Considering what we paid for the day, I don't think we got our money's worth.

ItalyIt was great to be able to be picked up a short walk from our hotel early, to miss the crowds, and head straight to Pompeii! Marcello was very knowledgeable about all things related to Pompeii and other similar sites around Italy. He was also very willing to engage in other interesting related topics and answer all of our varied questions. We arrived at the site early and parked in an out of the way lot and had a lovely (uncrowded) walk to the gate and then were able to enter the site quickly and begin!

His knowledge about the site is incredible. Not just about the life there, but about the lifestyle, the buildings, the frescoes and the history of the Roman empire (and where to eat when the tour is finished!). He knows exactly the best areas to go and how to get there while avoiding the crowds. Our only regret is, we should have booked the entire day!

He translated the staff tour at the museum for me, and we saw an extant German bunker at a beach & pondered how differently the world might be if the Allies had lost. We also visited the archaeological site of Paestum (where the Allied HQ was) and had fresh buffalo mozzarella at a buffalo farm's restaurant. Grazie mille for a great day, Marcello.
